Highly Collectible Premier Consul Très Vieille, Handwritten label, Grande Champagne.

Premier Consul refers to the period when  Napoleon Bonaparte acted as the head of the French republican governement in 1799 till the start of the First Napoleonic Empire of France in 1804.

After 1972 AE Dor became the property of the Bénédictine group of the Legrand family. During this period the company was led by Philippe Mitterand, brother of the former French president, François Mitterand.  It is assumed that these bottles were gifted to notable individuals during that period by the President himself. Only 36 were drawn from a Demi John and all have a handwritten label, some more faded then others but allways in the same handwriting.

The Cognacs of the A.E Dor Hors d’Age collection are stored in the wax-sealed demijohns for decades, until the eaux-de-vie have reached their prime and are ready to be bottled. Despite their great age, A.E Dor’s Grande Champagne Vieille Réserve range have retained strong personality and Premier Cru characteristics as a result of the care and attention put in from the Cellar-Master and team at Maison A.E Dor.
