Vieille Réserve, No. 9, Grande Champagne, matured for 50 years in oak casks.
The AE Dor Vieille Réserve No 9 is truly a special Cognac. A very limited release, offered as part of their precious numbered, Vieilles Reserve range of rare Cognacs. The story behind No 9 is fascinating. After languishing in oak barrels for around 50 years, the eau-de-vie was transferred into wax-sealed demijohns. When this particular concept is applied, the Cognac then ceases to age further, nor does the alcohol content continue to naturally reduce. It was in 1964 when the Cellar Master concluded that the Cognac was at the perfect point for this to occur. And there it sat until the house of A.E. Dor deemed it ready to bottle.
Thanks to this such a Cognac retains its vigor and personality, so you can be assured that you're enjoying a Cognac that's as perfect as it was over half a century ago. This really is like tasting a little bit of history. This Grande Champagne delight needs no fancy decanter: The traditional style Cognac bottle, such as used with all of A.E. Dor's Cognacs, is ther perfect vehicle for such a sublime sensory experience. But connoiseurs beware! This is a truly limited edition, and once the small run of bottles are gone, then that's it–they truly are gone forever.
